If you like to share your computer with multiple users, you should create user accounts for them. This will ensure that other user may not delete another user’s files accidentally.

Here is a way to create new user account in XP.

1. Right click My Computer
2. Select Manage
3. Select Local Users and Groups
4. Select Users
5. Right Click, select New User …
6. Key in the relevant info - User name, Password, Confirm password:
7. You may like to un-select all the option except Password never expires
8. Click Crete

If you like to make this user an Administrator (this is not recommended for users who has limited experience with computers),

1. Select Groups under Local Users and Groups
2. Double click Administrators
3. Click Add
4. Key in the user name that was created just now
